We joined Karen and Chris Laing, the creators of Fit School Essex, in Epping Forest to do a short, body weight circuit to follow anywhere, but Karen says in the outdoors is best!
They share a love of movement and fitness and their company has grown up around this. Karen started teaching because of a love of coaching others and a love of movement to music. Chris was involved in sport from a young age including, Badminton, Athletics and Football. Karen now teaches Pilates, specialising in Women’s health. Chris is a personal trainer and teaches the run club and fitness classes. They help people achieve their fitness goals by keeping it simple. Sometimes that is seeing someone change from an exercise sceptic to someone who has found a new passion in movement; or it might be helping a non-runner, learn how to run, or seeing an experienced runner cut their marathon time from 3.40 to 3.06.
Karen says, “3030 Essex is all about keeping it simple. You don’t need a workout or a gym to get fitter in. Just put on a pair of comfortable shoes and walk to the shops instead of taking the car. Staying fit is all about little steps everyday rather than big change.”
